Animated logo
For this task, I created three animated elements: an animated logo, an animated typographic example, and an animated illustration or infographic. In the animated logo, I incorporated my brand name, ‘undefined’, into the graphic logo, using the letter ‘D’—the most significant part of the word—as my primary source of inspiration. I drew inspiration from the image of a CD being inserted into a CD player, which ultimately formed the letter ‘D’. The typography also adopts the popular hip-hop style font ‘Sneakers’ as an overall typographic accent. Similarly, the letter ‘D’ has been given a special red treatment to echo the ‘D’ formed by the logo.
Animated typographic example
The second is my animated typography example. I created an animation based on my brand’s tagline, ‘Built for the streets, made for your rhythm’, breaking the entire phrase down into two parts and animating them separately. For ‘Built for the streets’, I created an animation where the letters gradually appear, emerging from a blank background to form a complete sentence. I then used a black rectangle, acting as a sort of eraser, to wipe the entire sentence away from left to right. Once the sentence has disappeared, the second half, ‘Made for your rhythm’, appears from the background in the same manner.
Animated illustration or infographic
The third is my animated illustration or infographic. I used Adobe Illustrator to create an image of a Black person, as Black people make up the largest proportion of the hip-hop community and have achieved the most within it; by using this highly representative skin tone, I highlighted the spirit of street culture and hip-hop. Furthermore, I employed pixelated animation techniques to bring the entire poster to life, ensuring it is highly recognisable.
