This photo is my first self-portrait, my idea is to put my real self as much as possible, at the same time in high school in the art exam the best is also the sketching exam, this photo I try my best to show the colors on the face and clothes as accurately as possible, the eyes, the nose, the mouth, the ears, including the hair and eyes, etc., I use the color to express, and at the same time, the background of this photo is the embodiment of my subject matter, which has nothing special to do with me personally. In fact, there is no special relationship with me, but I want to put the words human and nature in different color blocks to separate the two, to express the relationship between human and nature, “Warm colors consist of orange, red, yellow, and combinations of these and similar colors. As the name indicates, they make you think of warm things like sunlight and heat. Visually, warm colors look as though they come closer, or advance (as do dark colors)the warm colors mainly include red, orange, yellow, brown and other colors. Warm colors include red, orange, yellow, brown and so on. These colors produce a feeling of warmth, closeness and vitality psychologically”(Lauren Flanagan), and I want to use warm colors to express that human beings should be more tolerant of each other rather than suspicious of each other.

My first idea for this photo was to make a self-portrait in plaster, because I was always an art student in high school, and still life in plaster and so on had different meanings for me, so I used black, white and gray as the main colors for this photo, sculpting my face, with black and white as the main colors, and gray as the transition, and the background of this photo is a simplified version of one of my hometown’s Shanghai’s landmarks, called the The Pearl of the Orient links this photo to me personally and expresses my hometown and my country.”Black and white photos can be used to show contrast, convey feelings of sadness or happiness, or mostly to create a feeling of nostalgia. They can also depict the passage of time or the changing of seasons. Black and white photography often carries a nostalgic or vintage emotional color, which can evoke memories of the past and create a soft and nostalgic atmosphere to enhance the emotional atmosphere of the photo, “and I use black and white to express the emotion of nostalgia.
